Islanders are being invited to have their say on a draft Local Planning Brief for the St Peter Port and St Sampson harbours, which has been published today by the Development & Planning Authority.

A copy of the planning brief has been delivered to the St Andrews Constables office and Parishioners are welcome to come and see the document.

The draft identifies opportunities for change and enhancement of the harbours, and aims to facilitate and encourage coordinated development along the east coast.

The plans propose a range of policies, categorised within six key themes:

1. Resilient harbours and infrastructure

2. Supporting the maritime sector to provide job and leisure opportunities

3. New and expanded uses and activities within the Harbour Action Areas

4. Culture, heritage, tourism and leisure

5. Making it safe, healthy, efficient and easy for people and goods to get around

6. Climate resilience and the nature environment.
