Set in the heart of the parish, just a short walk from St Andrew’s Church, the Parochial Cemetery provides a peaceful and well-maintained resting place for parishioners and their families. Surrounded by mature trees and open countryside, it offers a quiet space for remembrance, reflection, and connection with the parish’s long history.
The cemetery serves as the main burial ground for St Andrew’s today, complementing the much older churchyard that surrounds the parish church. It is managed by the Douzaine on behalf of the parish and maintained with care throughout the year to provide a dignified and respectful environment for visitors.
Plots in the Parochial Cemetery are available for residents of the parish, and existing family graves can often be re-opened for future interments where space allows. The cemetery also contains a number of older memorials and headstones that reflect centuries of parish life, preserving the stories of many generations of St Andrew’s families.
Visitors are welcome to spend time in the cemetery, whether tending to graves, researching family history, or simply enjoying a moment of quiet. We ask that all visitors treat the site with respect and help us to preserve it as a place of peace and remembrance for the whole community.
